As they neared the finish line, Speed made his move. He tore up the left side of Gray Ghost. The gray car swung at him, trying to bat him away. Speed hit the jacks and flew into the air. Gray Ghostspun out and slammed into the retaining wall. Speed zoomed through the cloud of smoke and fire, and crossing into history, he saw the black-and-white checkered flag wave in front of him.
