Speed Racer- Born to Race by Michael Anthony Steele (Part 3)
Suddenly Speed was jolted as a car slammed into him. Speed glanced at the other car and saw it edge away from him only to come sliding back for another attack. Speed hit the gas swerved onto the upcoming car. Hitting the other car just right, Speed sent it spiraling back into the pack of cars behind him. The other cars swerved awayas the attacking car slid into the rail and exploded. The driver's kwik-save cocoon bounced away as bits of his smashed car rainned down on the other racers (Pg 53)

As they neared the finish line, Speed made his move. He tore up the left side of Gray Ghost. The gray car swung at him, trying to bat him away. Speed hit the jacks and flew into the air. Gray Ghostspun out and slammed into the retaining wall. Speed zoomed through the cloud of smoke and fire, and crossing into history, he saw the black-and-white checkered flag wave in front of him. Speed cut his wheels and pulled the handbrake. While the Mach 5 went into a spin, he hit the jacks. The race car flew in the air after the Viking car. As if delivering a flying karate kick, the Mach 5 knocked the Thor-axine car away from Taejo. As Speed landed on all for wheels, the enemy car tumbled across the desert flats. It smashed into a dune and exploded. Lucky for the Viking, his kwik-save cocoon popped out of the flames and bounced across the dessert.
